Day 1 – Now we're in PPC

- Hotel service picked us up from PPC airport and it was a 5 to 10 minutes travel to the hotel. We were also given the option for our itineraries (that will be discussed in my future post).
- The van driver discussed the do's and dont's of the city. We were also informed about the two festivals (Baragatan and Feast of the Forest) which happens right smack into our vacation. nice pick boss! :)
- Arrived at the hotel and had a hassle free registration.
- Our group decided to have brunch since we were not able catch the breakfast buffet. We found ourselves checking out the old public market of PPC. Good thing we arrived before lunch time and there lots of seafood stuff to choose (antihistamine where are you?)
- It was decided that we'll have crabs and fish (which I don't know the poor things name). We found a carinderia who was happy to cook the crabs and fish for a minimal fee. One of our companion s bought a kilo of mango's which tasted good and the vendor told us it was one of their best sellers (better than Guimaras daw).
- Would have been better if the government cleaned up the old PPC public market and do paluto like in Paranaque. Brunch would have been much better :)

Day 1 – Manila to PPC
- Ate bread and drank some coffee before leaving our QC place. Taxi ride to terminal 3 (5am travel) took us less than 5 mins via c5. Paid the driver 300php after offering him 250php. We saved 50php since the usual rate is 350-400php.
- Arrived at terminal 3 and went thru the usual security check. Oh! There was a long line at the departure area. We were also thinking if the recent radar problem would either cancel or delay our flight. Weather is ok and hoping for no rain.
- Great! Flight confirmed and no problem with the check in luggage. We looked for our companions (my office mate and her cousin).
- Paid the usual airport fee and looked for a resto to have our breakfast.
- We found our companions having breakfast at the concessionaire area (second floor) and we decided to have beef noodle soup for breakfast (my husband was hoping for braised beef but it wasn't available till lunch time).
- Waited 30-40 minutes after breakfast for the flight.
- Departure time! We left Manila on time.
- Arrival at Puerto Princesa airport after 1hr 30minutes of travel (barely enough for a nap).
- Wait time at the baggage area was around 20-30 minutes. Yes! That's the wait time so gather enough patience while waiting.

My favorite song as of the moment

on Sunday, August 16, 2009

I love listening to their song ever since it was released here in the Philippines. many noontime shows tried to copy the moves they have failed. The original is much better.

Story of our lives (after outbreak)

Its been weeks after the the incident happen and until now i cant get over it. Maybe because its not an overnight process, it will takes some time to over come such trauma. So for the mean time i would stay with my parents house during the weekdays and weekends with my hubby in our own home. Its very hard on my part because i cant be with my hubby even if i want to. There are times i just want a hug after a toxic day from work or just an ordinary day that i misses my hubby and want to hug him but i cant. Its really a trial on part since i cant overcome the fear of leaving alone at night in our own house because of the incident. I pray to GOD that sooner i will be brave enough and have the courage again.

August 2009 in Philippine History

on Tuesday, August 4, 2009

The transition period from July to August is one for the books or I should say for the history books (and should be properly written by writers...ehem ehem Zaide)

1. Former Philippine president Corazon Aquino will be buried beside her husband at Manila Memorial Park. The heavens must be crying a lot for the loss of the Filipino people and the Aquino family. The former president gave a good fight for democracy and she should be rewarded for her effort.

2. Extreme disgust over the attempt made by Malacanang especially the midget president (ehem ehem GMA) to insert new pets (I mean candidates) into the Supreme Court. Good thing the Judicial Bar Council thwarted the attempt. The midget president should be reminded about the division between the legislative, executive, and the judiciary branch. She needs to get schooled on the current constitution. I smell something sinister in the recent move of Malacanang and could it be connected to the 2010 elections?

3. Oh my! Carlo J. Caparas nominated by Malacanang to the newest batch of National Artists. What in the world were they thinking on nominating that guy who did nothing noteworthy for the country. I hope the massacre movies made by the guy does not prove how low can we go on picking candidates for the National Artists of the Philippines. Will make sure to campaign against him and make a massacre out of his nomination.

Farewell madame president

on Saturday, August 1, 2009

Today marks a sad part of Philippine history as one former president has been called back by the Lord. Much of my early life was under her administration and what I remember most is the coup d tat that occurred a couple of times during her presidency.

Thank you Lord for giving President Aquino
the gift of life. It was a well-lived life as she
touched nations all over the world.
It must have been difficult for her
especially the last months of her life.
But everything is well now as she joins you.
May her family find comfort knowing that
she is now safe in your kingdom.

Story of our lives

on Wednesday, July 29, 2009

July 21 was my mom`s birthday so i got home late and left is our mini dog waiting for me to got home. Having some food with me for my partner since he was not able to join us because of his work. When we are about to sleep and listening to my favorite fm radio 90.7(papajak) i heard someone is crying so i thought it was just one of the mystery of the house and try to ignore it by putting the radio volume on high but i was wrong, instead she cried louder and louder. While i still have some guts with me i tried to say something like " umalis ka na!!" (what they say try to talk to them) i guess it didnt work out because she is angry hearing some things throwing outside of my room and doors are slaping many times. Its really a nerve breaking moment for me. I dont know how i survive that moment but still i did informed my parents but how? i dont know....

Up to now i still have fear of being alone

... horrible.... afraid...

but its true.
